Helping Managers Institutionalize Their Intellectual Property

You're a Manager in a corporation or an organization. You have created an approach that has proven highly successful. Your company is doing well and has achieved recognition for the innovativeness of its approach. Your organization has been praised for being customer-focused. You may even have been personally written up as a model in business circles or academic journals, perhaps even in the general press or on television. You may be on the speakers' circuit. You feel what you have created is a process that could be replicated on a larger scale. Yet, you do not know how to make this happen.

This is where the MAC Partnership can help. On a highly selective basis, we partner with Managers in developing tools and methodologies that capture the often intuitive way through which Managers often achieve great results. We conceptualize your accomplishments, make them replicable and disseminate them. In a word, we institutionalize the process you have created.

Because of our unique focus on Customer-Inspired Innovation, we are primarily interested in Managers who are recognized as having innovated in their business or organization. We also seek Managers who view insights generated by customers or prospective customers as a key ingredient in their business success.

We are extremely selective in identifying the managerial models we support. The track record of the approach inside the Manager's existing organization is the primary consideration. Favorable reactions by other early adopters of the approach also play a key role in our decision to support the development of a new approach.

In addition to the Managers whom we proactively seek, Managers also submit unsolicited approaches or methodologies to us. We periodically organize Methodology Fairs where Managers are invited to come and discuss their approach with our Intellectual Property Committee. We charge a fee for the admission to these IP Fairs, both as a way of covering our cost, and to ensure that only serious approaches with high potential are brought to us.

The process we follow to support the ideas we sponsor is covered in the Idea Development Support section.
