The Role of Managers |
||||||
Managers are one of the three core constituencies of the MAC Partnership. Managers are the clients for the consulting projects of the firm. As such, they provide the best test for our methodologies and approaches. Some Managers have developed approaches leading to extraordinary results inside their firms. We selectively partner with those Managers who provide unique intellectual property for the MAC Partnership and support the development of tools and methodologies under their leadership. Finally, some Managers are equity partners of the firm and sit on our governance structure. We work with Managers in two primary ways: We Work for Managers on Consulting Projects This is the most common mode of relationship with our Managers. Managers face complex issues requiring sophisticated answers. The MAC Partnership is uniquely equipped to address those issues. The services of the MAC Partnership are particularly distinctive when Managers seek a personal relationship rather than the intervention of a large team, or when the approach required needs to be cutting-edge rather than standard. We are most effective when the issues revolve around the topic of growth, innovation and customer insights – what we term Customer-Inspired Innovation. We Help Managers Institutionalize Intellectual Property They Have Created Inside Their Own Firms In a limited number of cases, we undertake responsibility for supporting the development of the Intellectual Property (IP) developed by a Manager. We provide these services only for Managers who have achieved extraordinary levels of accomplishment in their organization, and who are widely recognized as having used an original approach worthy of conceptualization and dissemination. The IP created must fall within our general Customer-Inspired Innovation field of competence. |
