Working for Managers on Consulting Projects

You're a Manager. You face a complex set of issues inside your organization. You're seeking a senior advisor who can help you personally. You don't want a group of consultants who'll start networking around you from the moment they arrive. You seek someone who'll get to know your organization and your aspirations. You don't want to spend several hundred thousand dollars on this effort, nor do you want to have large groups of eager young consultants interviewing everybody in sight. You want a Consultant that can give you ideas, will shape the solution with you, and will increase the skills of your organization.

If this is the type of approach you have in mind, the MAC Partnership is for you. Our Consultants seek to build individual relationships with you. They typically become involved through small interventions – perhaps a keynote speech or workshop on a topic where they have recognized expertise. You may then involve our Consultant into a small project with well designed deliverables, allowing you to test the personal chemistry and applied value of the proposed concepts. Over time, you may find yourself broadening the role of our Consultant into a "buyer's representative" role, where he or she brings you the best resources for the problem at hand, irrespective of his or her own field of specialization.

There is an academic quality to our interventions. First, we often partner with leading Academics in bringing you cutting-edge approaches before they become available from others. Secondly, we're quite attentive to developing new skills inside your organization, in the best academic tradition. Most of our interventions are workshop-based, and involve the use of client team members learning from our Consultants how to perform key tasks. We also often conduct executive education interventions.

The MAC Partnership is most effective when dealing with issues linked to growth, innovation and customer-generated insights – we broadly define our area of expertise as "Customer-Inspired Innovation." You may be dealing with these issues as a general manager or CEO. You may be heading new business development or strategy. You may be the head of new product development. You may be a senior marketing person. Or you may be in charge of leadership development inside the firm, with access to the right decision-makers through your development programs. In all those cases, the MAC Partnership will represent a valuable resource for you.
